The shell makes up 2/3 of the weight of the nut, takes up a lot of space and is considered waste when processing a walnut into a kernel. Often, processors do not know what to do with the nut shell, how to dispose of it, where to use it or donate it.
The nut shell burns well and has a high heat transfer. Therefore, one of the most common reasons for buying up walnut shells is for heating industrial premises and greenhouses.
The shell is a valuable raw material and it is purchased by enterprises producing:
- pharmacy activated carbon;
- abrasive materials for jet cleaning of various surfaces and inlet valves of car engines;
- coals for hookahs and fireplaces;
- fuel pellets and briquettes.
At home, walnut shells can be used as decor in the home or garden, as mulch or drainage.
You can sell the shell directly to enterprises. Buyers can be found on bulletin boards (olx, flagma) and in specialized nut chats (on facebook, telegram, viber).
Walnut shells are sold unchanged or crushed into small fractions. In the second option, it takes up less space and is easier to transport.
